Matsuo Basho who was a representative of haiku.
200 years ago from this time， he was traveled Ōu region.
After sightseeing of Shirakawa，he stayed at a friend's house of Sukagawa.

"You would have made ​​a haiku in Shirakawa.
Please tell me your haiku."
Basho was asked so from Sukagawa friend.

"Shirakawa is the entrance of another world.

I thought its emotion of the people of ancient.
And I noticed，same emotion had been filled also in me.
I was not able to make a haiku by too much impressed.
Elegance is Shirakawa.”
And they laughed.
