They were feudal lord at their territory.
Territory which remaining after deducting it.
It was the territory of the lord of clan.

They collected respectively the rice of the territory of their own.

"Government of clan does collect annual tribute of the territory of all in a lump sum.
Then Government of clan pays the rice to vassal."

However、Odawara clan seems to had adopted this system at that time.
(In a sense，This was the salary system.
This system seems to had become the mainstream in Japan already.)
