”God of Japan exist to follow buddha.”

After the establishment of this thought，how did Japanese people put the integrity with thought until then?

”Buddha had been existed in Japan from a long time ago in fact.”
”God of Japan was provisional figure of the Buddha.”　
"They had appeared with provisional figure in order to save the Japanese people."

This thought called "Gongen".　
The literal translation of Gongen is appeared in the form of provisional.

Why bother provisional figure?
If God of japan is Buddha.
In that case，he（？） can appeared as a Buddha as usual.
Have no problem there.

Its first king named ”Tokugawa Ieyasu.”
Tokyo (called Edo) became heart of japan by him.
　
He end the war which lasted a hundred years.
This peace lasts 260 years until Meiji Restoration in 1868.　
And he had called Gongen after death.
