shinsengumi

Shinsengumi was a Ronin organization.
However, most of them were not originally samurai.
They were farmers in Edo. (now Tokyo).
They were also swordsman of town.

”Recruiting to soldiers for  protect the security of Kyoto.”
Such recruitment was in Edo.
But this was actually a conspiracy of Instigator.

”Protect the security of Kyoto for the Tokugawa.”
Collect the soldiers in this nominal,he was going to revolt against Tokugawa at Kyoto.

He went to Kyoto with soldiers, but this conspiracy failed.
(There was also not approval of the soldiers.)
He eventually was killed by Tokugawa.

・・・・・・・・・

Little back to past.
Persons of some swordsman dojo of the town in Edo,they know it recruited.

This era was a status society.
Their born status did not change anything then unless they have a special talent and luck.

They wanted to be a samurai.
Troublous times came.
They had put the fate of his own to the ability of the self as a swordsman.
However, this troublous times was troublous times to end the era of the samurai.

”Protect the security of Kyoto for the Tokugawa.”
They stayed in Kyoto as it is,and was became responsible for the maintenance of security under Aizu.
Of course they were not Anti-Emperor.

”Reverence to the Emperor.”
This idea was common sense including Tokugawa.
