idiot

There was a film director named "Kurosawa Akira" in Japan. (黒澤明 1910-1998)
He is one of the film director who represent the 20th century.

His later years, he was interviewed.

Incidentally, the interviewer was "Shibuya Yoichi" san. (渋谷陽一)
He is a rock journalist on behalf of Japan, along with "Nakamura Toyo" san.
(中村とうよう・Few years ago, Nakamura san died.)

My youth was baubles.

"Music Magazine" and "Record Collectors" of Nakamura Toyo san.
"Rockin'On" of Shibuya Yoichi san.

If these books do not exist,it would have become more baubles.

・・・・・・・・・

Well, this interview was conducted over a 3 hour period.
And this was interview that look back on the career of Kurosawa san.

In 1951, he made a film adaptation of Dostoevsky's Idiot.
(Although place in the play has been replaced to Japan.)

"Part I Part II of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
This movie was the movie of 5 hours really.
And it was such contracts.

The screening time of this movie is too long.
Therefore,it is necessary to halve the screening time.

But after the movie was completed once,I received such pressure from executives of film company.

10 minutes cut from the finished film.
Difficult even this.
This is a cut of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It became the big fight of course.
But after all, it was decided to cut the film.

For this reason, some characters had been killed its existence."

Interview is such content.

Note:I have not seen this movie.

・・・・・・・・・

By the way,Kurosawa san has said as follows in this interview about the characteristics of the text of Dostoevsky.
(I have a little summary.)

"Dostoyevsky was being chased by debt collectors always.
He was always ran away from them.
So he did not have time to fix the contents of his writing.

As a corollary, story he wrote did develop into strange direction.
And it is to get lost as it is.
Or come back suddenly.

This feeling that is not organized at all.
It is very interesting."

Yes,this my writing.
This is Dostoyevsky style.

Note:I never read the novel of Dostoevsky.
